| Obverse description | An eight-pointed star occupies the central field, rendered with alternating raised points of differing widths in a bold relief style. The circular legend ESTADO TACHIRA reads around the periphery, with the date 1872 at the left and a small five-pointed star separating the legend elements at the top. The entire design is contained within a beaded border. The composition has a distinctly local, privately-struck character consistent with Venezuelan state emergency coinage of the period. |
