Reverse description Central cross with ornate terminations divides the field into four quarters, each containing alternating castles and lions corresponding to the arms of Castile and León. The quadrants are separated by a bold plain cross, with wavy decorative elements filling the quarters. A beaded border frames the design, and the partial Latin legend ET INDIARVM REX is visible along the outer margin, characteristically incomplete due to the irregular shape of the hammered cob flan.
