Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Queen Isabella II facing right, her hair arranged in loose curls and gathered at the crown with a decorative beaded ornament. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a classical neoclassical style engraved by Mariano González de Sepúlveda. The circular legend reads ISABEL 2A. POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS., with the date 1836 positioned in the lower exergue below the bust. The field is smooth and unadorned, with a fine milled border encircling the entire obverse.
