Obverse description Central device depicting two crowned Pillars of Hercules flanking a globe, rendered in the Spanish colonial macuquina style. The denomination numeral '2' appears to the left of the pillars and the initial 'R' to the right, both in the field. The date 1820 is prominently struck in the lower field below the pillars. A royal crown surmounts the central device, and a floral or foliate ornament appears at the very base below the date.
