| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the large quartered royal shield of Castile and León, displaying castles and lions in alternating quarters, with Granada in base and the combined arms of Aragon occupying the dexter half. The shield is surmounted by a crown and flanked by the mint mark and assayer's letter 'P' to the left. A beaded inner border frames the shield, with the circular Latin legend running between the inner and outer borders of the irregular flan. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Iberian hammered coinage. |
