Reverse description The crowned coat of arms of Spain occupies the central field, displaying the quartered shield with the castles of Castile and the lions of León in the principal quarters, with the pomegranate of Granada in base and the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbons in an escutcheon at the centre. The royal crown surmounts the shield. To the left of the shield appears the mint mark and assayer initial R · V, and to the right the denomination numeral 2 and assayer letters GS. The circumferential Latin legend HISPANIARIUM · REX · runs around the periphery, enclosed within a toothed border.
