| Obverse description | Central crowned quartered shield of the Spanish royal arms, displaying castles of Castile, lions of León, the diagonal bars of Aragon, the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in an inescutcheon, and the pomegranate of Granada at base, all surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The denomination numeral II and the Seville mint mark S flank the shield on either side, with the assayer initial below. The circular Latin legend is separated from the central device by a beaded inner border, reading FELIPE V D G R II S PA, interspersed with small rosette ornaments. |
