| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cob-style reverse bearing the crowned arms of Castile and León rendered in the characteristic macuquina fashion, with the quartered castle and lion design visible within a roughly circular shield. The irregular planchet edges are typical of hand-struck colonial cob coinage produced at the Mexico City Mint. The legend HISPANIARVM ET INDIARVM REX, proclaiming the king as ruler of the Spains and the Indies, runs partially around the periphery in Latin capitals, though much of it falls off the flan due to the cob striking method. |
