| Obverse description | Obverse of the host cob (macuquina) displaying the quartered royal arms of Castile and León within a plain shield: the upper-left and lower-right quarters bear the castles of Castile, while the upper-right and lower-left quarters show the lions of León. The shield is set within a partially visible legend field consistent with late 16th-century Lima or Potosí hammered coinage. The irregular, roughly circular flan exhibits the characteristic uneven surfaces and clipped edges typical of cob-struck silver. A drilled suspension hole is visible toward the lower-right of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Reverse bearing the applied countermark of the Captaincy General of Guatemala, struck in 1663 by order of Felipe IV, consisting of a crowned F-IIII royal monogram — the interlaced letters F and the Roman numeral IIII surmounted by an open royal crown. The countermark is boldly impressed onto the cross side of the host cob, the underlying cross potent with lions and castles in the quadrants of the host coin remaining partially visible beneath. The flan is irregular with rough edges characteristic of hammered cob coinage, and shows a drilled hole at the lower-right margin. |
