| Obverse description | Central field depicts a facing bust of a condor or allegorical figure in low relief, heavily worn, surrounded by a circular legend reading REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA along the upper and lateral periphery, with the date 1821 positioned in the exergue at the bottom. The design is characteristic of the early republican coinage of Gran Colombia, struck at the Bogotá Mint. The legends are rendered in Roman capitals in the Latin script. The overall surfaces show considerable circulation wear consistent with contemporary use. |
