Reverse description Crowned quartered royal arms of Spain at center, displaying castles and lions in the quarters with a central inescutcheon, supported by the Pillars of Hercules flanking the shield. The denomination numeral 2 appears to the right of the shield, with the assayer initials CN and mint letter S (Seville) flanking the lower field. The legend HISPANIARUM·REX· curves around the upper periphery. A second Cuban lattice countermark of 1841, rectangular in form, is applied to the left field near the mint mark.
