| Opschrift voorzijde | CAROLVS II REX ARAGON |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | Diamond-shaped (lozenge) shield bearing the pallets of Aragon, with the combined arms of Majorca displayed in the lower portion. The heraldic shield is set within a rotated square cartouche formed by four diagonal lines, characteristic of Majorcan coinage design. A partial Latin legend appears along the lower edge of the coin within a beaded border, with legibility limited by the irregular hammered flan. |

Carlos II inherited the Spanish throne at age three upon his father Philip IV's death in 1665, leaving his mother Mariana of Austria as regent. Majorca, operating with considerable administrative autonomy, continued issuing its own coinage under the royal name throughout this regency period. The small crown variety distinguishes this type from the later large crown issues of the same reign — a die change that numismatists use to bracket production dates within what is otherwise an underdocumented series.
