| Obverse description | Crowned bust of Carlos II facing right, depicted in a stylized, somewhat frontal manner with long flowing hair, set within a beaded inner circle. Directly below the bust appears a small heraldic lion passant. The legend encircling the bust reads + CAROLVS · II · DEI · GRATIA · REX, rendered in Latin capitals.
