Repeated DOS REALES inscriptions appear within decorative guilloche panels along the right and lower borders, and a manuscript signature is present beneath the payment clause. |

The Banco de Londres y Río de la Plata was the Argentine subsidiary of the London and River Plate Bank, incorporated in London in 1862 and one of the first foreign commercial banks to issue provincial notes in Argentina. The Córdoba branch operated under provincial concession, which is why this note carries regional rather than national authority — Argentina's banking system in the 1860s remained fragmented along provincial lines, with no central bank to impose uniformity.
Two reales denominations in this series are genuinely scarce survivors. The branch closed its note-issuing operations well before the National Bank Law of 1887 forced consolidation.
