| Obverse description | The South African national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with figures of the San people in a circle, supported by a secretary bird with outstretched wings above, and flanked by symmetrical wheat stalks below. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto in the Khoisan !Ke e: /xarra //ke (Unity in Diversity). The engraver's initials ALS appear to the lower left of the arms. The legend SOUTH AFRICA arcs above along the rim, and the date 2010 is inscribed in the lower field. |
