Additional information

Sudan's post-independence coinage went through a quiet but significant administrative shift in 1960 when the Bank of Sudan assumed issuing authority from the Sudan Currency Board. This series belongs to the relatively stable middle period before the chronic economic pressures of the 1980s forced repeated debasements and denomination restructuring across Sudanese coinage.
