| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is entirely typographic in design, bearing no effigy or central device. The field is dominated by bilingual inscriptions arranged in horizontal registers: the French partial legend 'ETAT' appears at the top, followed by the Arabic date '١٩٢٦' and the Arabic legend 'دولة سورية' (State of Syria) in the centre, with the Gregorian date '1926' and the French continuation 'DE SYRIE' in the lower field. The entire composition is framed by an elaborate arabesque border of interlaced foliate and geometric scrollwork rendered in the Art Deco idiom, characteristic of the engraving style of Henri-Auguste Patey. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays the denomination in both Western and Eastern Arabic numerals flanking a central motif of two crossed wheat ears, symbolising agricultural prosperity. The Latin legend 'DEUX PIASTRES' arcs along the upper periphery, while the Arabic denomination '٢ غرشان' (Two Qirsh) is inscribed in the lower field in bold cursive script. The numeral '2' appears to the left and its Arabic-Indic equivalent '٢' to the right of the central wheat sheaf device. The entire design is enclosed within the same ornate arabesque border of interlaced scrollwork as found on the obverse, giving the coin a unified artistic character. |
