| Aanvullende informatie |
Fuad I had himself declared King of Egypt in 1922 following the formal end of the British Protectorate, though real authority remained deeply contested throughout his reign. The 1929 coinage was produced at the Budapest Mint — an unusual choice driven by capacity constraints and existing relationships with continental European mints rather than any political statement.
The "left" distinction in this type refers to the direction of the royal portrait and separates it from an earlier facing-right issue, a change made partway through Fuad's reign.
