| Aanvullende informatie |
Part of the Royal Mint's Lunar series launched in 2014, this issue follows the Chinese calendar cycle rather than any Commonwealth occasion — an unusual commercial pivot for an institution with over a thousand years of sovereign coinage behind it. The series was aimed squarely at the bullion and collector market competing with the Perth Mint's long-established Australian Lunar program, which had been running since 1996.
The Horse year falls in a twelve-coin cycle that the Royal Mint has now completed twice over.
