| Obverse description | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting a right-facing crowned and draped bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a drop earring. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 2 POUNDS · arranged around the periphery, with the engraver's initials J.C. incuse beneath the truncation.
