| Reverse description | A finely detailed bust of the Yale of Beaufort — a mythological heraldic beast resembling a goat — is depicted in right profile within the central silver field, rendered in high relief with distinctive swept-back horns and decorative collar detailing. The Yale bears a shield upon its body charged with a coronet above a portcullis, referencing the arms of the Beaufort family. The gold-plated outer ring carries the legend THE YALE OF BEAUFORT arcing across the upper portion, with • TWO POUNDS • inscribed along the lower arc, all in raised lettering. |

| Additional information |
The Yale of Beaufort was one of ten heraldic beasts recreated for the Queen's Beasts series, drawn from the supporters and badges of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. The Yale — a mythological creature attributed with independently swiveling horns — appeared as a Beaufort badge and passed into royal heraldry through the Tudor line's Lancastrian inheritance. Pobjoy struck this piece for the Isle of Man rather than under Royal Mint authority, one of several parallel issues that complicated collector sets built around the original Tower Mint series.
