South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands has no permanent civilian population, making its coinage entirely a revenue exercise administered through the British government. The 2003 issue marking Prince William's 21st birthday was produced for collector sale, never intended to reach any till or pocket. KM#17a designates the silver variant, distinguished from the base-metal circulation-format piece sharing the same design.
