| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Chris Costello, presents a boldly rendered three-quarter view of the sailing vessel Mayflower under full sail, depicted in fine relief on the silver inner disc, with stylised waves breaking at the hull. A compass star appears to the left of the ship in the field, and the engraver's initials CTC are incuse to the lower right of the vessel. The gold-coloured outer ring bears the commemorative dates 1620 and 2020 flanking the top of the inner disc, with four-petalled floral ornaments at the lower quarters, and the inscription MAYFLOWER in bold raised letters along the lower arc, commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim Fathers' voyage. |
