Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing draped bust wearing a tiara, set within a frosted inner field bordered by a fine ring of raised beads. The outer ring, struck in gilt finish, carries the legend ELIZABETH·II·D·G·REG·FID·DEF divided at the base by the denomination TWO POUNDS, all in raised capital letters. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the bust.
