Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the silver inner field, depicting a right-facing diademed and draped bust of the Queen. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear beneath the truncation. A raised dotted border separates the central field from the gilt outer ring, upon which the legend 'ELIZABETH·II·D·G·REG·FID·DEF' arcs around the upper portion and 'TWO POUNDS' appears along the lower periphery, all rendered in raised capitals characteristic of Royal Mint proof coinage.
