Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing mature bust with a tiara, rendered in fine relief against a polished proof field. The portrait occupies a central raised silver disc, visually separated from the gilt outer ring by a beaded border. The legend ELIZABETH·II·D·G·REG·FID·DEF arcs around the upper portion of the outer ring, while TWO POUNDS is inscribed along the lower arc. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the bust.
