| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold cartographic design by Stephen Taylor depicts a series of directional arrows crossing the English Channel from England toward the Normandy coastline, symbolising the Allied seaborne assault of 6 June 1944. Each arrow is individually labelled with the code names assigned to the five landing beaches: UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD, reading across the composition. The legend 'D-DAY: 75TH ANNIVERSARY' arcs across the upper field, while the date '2019' appears in the lower exergue. The designer's initials 'ST' are incorporated into the design. |
