Pobjoy Mint, operating as a private issuer on behalf of British overseas territories and smaller sovereignties, produced this piece for the British Indian Ocean Territory — a jurisdiction with almost no permanent civilian population, which makes its coinage program entirely collector-driven. Titanium in numismatics is genuinely difficult to strike cleanly; the metal's hardness and resistance to flow mean detail reproduction is less reliable than with silver or gold, and color anodization results vary between production runs.
