| Obverse description | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered in high relief with the monarch wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is the work of engraver Ian Rank-Broadley and is accompanied by the truncation signature IRB below the bust. The encircling Latin legend reads ELIZABETH II D G REG FID DEF, with the denomination TWO POUNDS and date 2015 completing the inscription around the lower field. |

The composition, designed by John Bergdahl, conveys the formal, tripartite nature of the historic agreement. The legend MAGNA CARTA arcs above the central scene, while the dual dates 1215 - 2015 appear below, marking the anniversary. The designer's initials JB are incorporated discreetly within the design. |
