Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted as a right-facing diademed and draped bust set within the copper-nickel centre of the bimetallic flan. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The surrounding nickel-brass ring carries the Latin legend 'ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRA·REG·FID·DEF', divided by raised beaded borders separating the inner and outer zones.
