Reverse description A bold cross pattée fills the centre field, with the Guernsey shield of arms — charged with three lions passant guardant — displayed at the centre intersection. Decorative floral sprays occupy each of the four quadrants formed by the arms of the cross, incorporating a latent image security feature. The denomination TWO POUNDS appears in the upper legend, flanked by £2 to left and right at mid-field, with the date 1997 inscribed in the lower exergue.
