Jersey's 2024 Churchill coin exists in a minting error state in which the denomination inscription was omitted from the design. Jersey has issued several Churchill commemoratives over the decades, and quality control anomalies on bimetallic pieces are particularly difficult to catch at the striking stage, as the two-component blank can mask edge and surface irregularities during inspection. The "Artist" designation refers to Churchill's serious practice of oil painting, a pursuit he took up after his forced resignation from the Admiralty following the Gallipoli disaster in 1915.
