| Obverse description | Bi-metallic composition with a gold-plated outer ring and a polished silver inner disc. The centre features a high-relief, uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in a contemporary portrait style with fine sculptural detail to the hair and facial features. The Pobjoy Mint initials 'PM' appear in small lettering in the lower right field of the inner disc. The central field depicts a highly detailed, high-relief figure of Mars, the Roman god of war, shown in three-quarter view wearing a plumed Corinthian helmet and muscular armour, holding a spear at the lower left. Behind him, a large celestial body — rendered as a heavily cratered planet — dominates the left portion of the inner disc, set against radiating solar flares. Six small engraved planetary motifs, including ringed Saturn and other solar system bodies, are evenly distributed around the gold-plated outer ring.
