The Gold State Coach depicted on this issue last carried a sovereign to a coronation on 6 May 2023, when Charles III made the 1.3-mile journey from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. The coach, built in 1762 under George III, has made that same trip for every coronation since George IV in 1821 — notoriously uncomfortable, reportedly swaying so violently that monarchs have compared the experience to being seasick.
The British Antarctic Territory, though a legitimate UK Overseas Territory with a permanent research presence, issues coins primarily for the collector market. No circulating economy exists there.
