Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a bold typographic composition filling the entire field, presenting key phrases from General Dwight D. Eisenhower's Order of the Day address issued on June 6, 1944, arranged in overlapping stacked lettering of varying scales. The central disc is enhanced with full-color printing depicting a sea-and-sky vignette with a silhouette of a landing craft in the lower field, evoking the Normandy beach landings. The outer ring, rendered in gold-toned nickel brass, carries portions of the Eisenhower quotation in raised relief. The inscription D-DAY appears prominently at the base of the inner disc, with JUNE 6 1944 inscribed in the exergue below.
