背面描述 The central copper-nickel field bears a typographic design rendering key words of General Dwight D. Eisenhower's D-Day Order of the Day in bold raised lettering of varying sizes — COURAGE, DEVOTION, DUTY & SKILL, BATTLE, VICTORY — with the phrase WE WILL ACCEPT NOTHING LESS THAN superimposed across the center in smaller lettering, and a stylized depiction of the Normandy coastline in the lower field. The nickel brass outer ring carries the full Eisenhower quotation in raised lettering, with D-DAY and the commemorative date JUNE 6 1944 inscribed at the base.

附加信息

Pitcairn's coinage has no functional monetary role on the island — with a population hovering around forty, the economy runs on honey sales, fishing, and postal philately. These pieces are struck entirely for the collector market and never circulate. The "Battle" designation here almost certainly references one of the Royal Navy engagements commemorated under the broader Charles III accession series, though Pitcairn's own most infamous historical episode remains the 1789 mutiny on HMS Bounty, after which Fletcher Christian's crew burned the ship in the bay now called Bounty Bay.
