Obverse description The obverse features a finely detailed, uncrowned effigy of King Charles III in left-facing profile, rendered in high relief by sculptor Martin Jennings. The portrait, set within the silver inner disc of the bimetallic-style flan, depicts the King in civilian dress with naturalistic modelling of facial features. The engraver's initials 'MJ' appear in the lower field to the right of the bust. The surrounding gold-plated outer ring carries the Latin legend 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 2 POUNDS' reading clockwise from the upper left, with the date '2025' continuing at the base.
