Obverse description At center, the crowned Prussian coat of arms displays a displayed eagle with spread wings, its head turned to the right; the eagle bears a royal crown above and clutches an orb in its left talon and a scepter in its right. The shield is encircled by a beaded border (grenetis) and flanked by a surrounding legend. The heraldic design is rendered in a bold, classical engraving style typical of early nineteenth-century German minting.
