Additional information

Victor II Frederick ruled Anhalt-Bernburg for less than four years, dying in 1765, and his coinage output was correspondingly thin. The billon small change of 1744–45 was struck during a period when the fractured Anhalt territories — Bernburg, Dessau, Köthen, Zerbst, and Pleß — each maintained independent minting rights, producing a proliferation of minor denominations that circulated interchangeably and with considerable friction among the principalities.

Mann#677 is the standard reference for this type; copies outside German institutional collections are infrequently handled.
