Kriegsgefangenen-Zweiglager Weiler was a branch prisoner-of-war camp (Zweiglager) operating under the German military detention system during the First World War. Camp-issued scrip of this type was a deliberate administrative tool — it prevented prisoners from accumulating Reichsmark currency that could be used to bribe guards or fund escape attempts. The 2 Pfennig denomination is among the smallest in the German PoW scrip hierarchy, intended for canteen transactions of the most basic kind.

Weiler camp issues remain sparsely documented. JP1418 entries for this series rely heavily on surviving specimens rather than administrative records, most of which were not preserved after the camp's dissolution.
