Additional information

The Artillerie-Werkstätten München issued scrip coinage for use within their ordnance and munitions facilities — a common wartime measure in Germany when Reichsbank metal coinage was hoarded or diverted to war production. These Werksgeld tokens circulated exclusively within the factory complex, used by workers at canteens and internal purchasing points. The zinc composition reflects the material constraints of the period, with copper and nickel redirected to armaments.

The Hasselmann reference places this among a well-documented but thinly collected class of Bavarian military-industrial tokens.
