| 备注 |
The Danziger Zentralkasse Aktiengesellschaft was established specifically to manage the financial affairs of the Free City of Danzig, a League of Nations-administered territory that existed in a permanent constitutional awkwardness — neither German nor Polish, yet economically entangled with both. By 1923, the hyperinflationary collapse sweeping Weimar Germany was bleeding across the border, and low-denomination emergency notes like this 2 Pfennige piece were a direct response to the coinage shortage that followed.
The Pfennig denominations from this institution are among the lowest-value paper issues of any European autonomous territory from the period.
