| Aanvullende informatie |
Zwiesel is a small glassmaking town in the Bavarian Forest, and its 1920 notgeld coinage was issued during the acute small-change shortage that followed Germany's defeat in the First World War — hoarding and metal requisitions had gutted circulation of imperial pfennig pieces almost entirely. Hundreds of German municipalities struck their own zinc or iron emergency coins that year, and Zwiesel was among the smaller issuers, which generally translates to lower surviving populations than the larger city issues.
