Beschrijving voorzijde Three heraldic shields arranged in trefoil formation, meeting at the centre of the field: the upper shield bears an imperial eagle, the lower-left shield displays a chamois or ibex passant, and the lower-right shield contains a further heraldic device associated with the Bishopric of Chur. The denomination numeral '2' appears in the lower central field beneath the junction of the three shields. The coin is struck uniface with a boldly beaded border encircling the entire design, characteristic of small hammered billon or silver pfennig coinage of the period.

Aanvullende informatie

Ulrich VII von Federspiel served as Prince-Bishop of Chur from 1692 until his death in 1728, a tenure during which the Graubünden region remained entangled in the slow dissolution of imperial authority in the Swiss territories. The Bishopric of Chur maintained its own mint rights well into the eighteenth century despite the surrounding cantons having effectively consolidated monetary practices — a jurisdictional anomaly that produced small silver issues like this one in denominations that were already becoming economically marginal by the time they were struck.
