| Aanvullende informatie |
Simon August ruled the County of Lippe from 1734 until his death in 1782, a tenure long enough to see the Seven Years' War tear through the surrounding Westphalian territories. This 1763 issue lands precisely at the Peace of Hubertusburg, the year the war ended and small German states scrambled to restabilize local economies disrupted by years of military occupation and currency debasement. Copper pfennig issues of this type circulated hard in rural Lippe, where small denomination coinage was chronically short.
