Obverse description Bold eagle's head in left profile, rendered in high relief and occupying the majority of the coin's field, conveying a strong naturalistic character. The plumage is finely detailed, with crisp engraving defining the feathers, eye, and hooked beak. The circular legend DEUTSCHES REICH runs around the periphery, separated from the design by an inner beaded border. Three small stars appear at the base of the design below the eagle's neck. The overall style reflects the Weimar Republic's early medallic aesthetic as engraved by Friedrich Wilhelm Hörnlein.
