| Obverse description | An outer pearl border follows the octagonal periphery, enclosing a circular legend reading STADT MÜHLHAUSEN / THÜRINGEN, separated by small five-pointed stars, which surrounds an inner pearl circle. Within the central field, the large numeral '2' denoting the denomination is prominently displayed, pierced at its centre by a circular hole approximately 2.5 mm in diameter. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, characteristic of World War I German notgeld emergency coinage. |

| Reverse description | An outer pearl border follows the octagonal periphery, within which the circular legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE arcs around the upper portion of the field, flanked by small five-pointed stars, and the date 1917 appears at the base between two stars. An inner rope-twist circle encloses the central motif of a millrind (Mühlstein-Eisen), a heraldic charge alluding to the city's name, centred on the circular hole. The design is crisp and functional, consistent with wartime municipal token production. |
