Obverse description The city coat of arms of Hamm (Westfalen) occupies the central field, depicting a checkered shield adorned with decorative scrollwork and supported by ornamental mantling. A circular legend reading STADT HAMM WESTF, separated by bullet stops, surrounds the arms along the inner border. The milled octagonal edge provides a serrated border characteristic of wartime notgeld issues. The overall design is executed in a bold, low-relief style typical of emergency coinage of the period.
