Additional information

Ferdinand II ruled Styria as archduke before his election as Holy Roman Emperor in 1619, and his Graz mint operated throughout the Counter-Reformation campaign he aggressively pushed through his hereditary lands — forcibly expelling Protestant preachers from Styria beginning in 1598. The tiny silver pfennig denominations from this mint served everyday parish-level commerce in a duchy being systematically re-Catholicized by ducal decree.

The Herinek reference range 132–151 indicates meaningful die variation across the roughly two-decade span of this type.
