Obverse description Central field features the Teutonic Order shield bearing a cross pattee, flanked on either side by the initials T and O (for Teutonic Order) in Gothic-style characters. The denomination II appears prominently above the shield, while the date 1622 is divided and placed to either side of the lower portion of the shield. The design is contained within a beaded or toothed border typical of hammered Kipper-period coinage. The overall style is characteristic of the debased emergency coinage issued during the Kipper und Wipper inflationary period.
